The Danish Armed Forces have published an 18-page defence acquisition plan outlining expected procurements for 2026.

The plan, produced by the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO), sets out anticipated purchases ranging from fuel and consumables to major defence materiel.

- Over the years, DALO has taken a focused approach to strengthening cooperation with the Danish defence industry, a priority that will continue in 2026, the organisation said in a statement.

According to DALO, a key objective of this cooperation is to increase transparency and give industry greater insight into the Danish Armed Forces’ forthcoming procurement activities. The procurement plan is described as an important tool in achieving this aim.

It provides a consolidated overview of a significant share of DALO’s expected future acquisitions, while stressing that it represents a snapshot in time and will be updated on an ongoing basis as requirements and circumstances evolve.

Speaking at the Danish Defence Annual Conference last week, DALO said it has been extremely busy preparing to receive an unprecedented volume of equipment.

This includes the delivery of around 5,500 vehicles at what was described as an "overwhelming pace", according to Colonel Thomas Ø. Knudsen, head of DALO’s land capabilities.

The plan is dominated by smaller procurements, with the largest individual contracts estimated to be worth between DKK 500m and DKK 1bn (€67m–€139m).
